Transport for London (TfL) have announced a fleet of new futuristic tube trains. They’re spending £1.5 billion for 94 new trains on the Piccadilly Line, and 160 identical trains on the Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo & City over the next 10 years.
These new trains will be fully air-cooled, so no more sweltering in the summer. Clear, electronic colour signalling on the doors will improve safety. The carriages will also be walk-through with LED screens displaying real time information.
